The 200-hour Kripalu Yoga teacher training provides you with a solid foundation in the technical skills you need to become a Kripalu Yoga teacher and gives you the tools you need to build a successful career as a yoga teacher.

Graduates of the program are in great demand for their in-depth knowledge, clear instruction, intuitive insights into each students needs, and their ability to guide students to the experience of inner peace that is the true essence of yoga.

The Yoga Curriculum:

The Kripalu Yoga 200-hour teacher training includes both a solid grounding in technical skills and the development of an empathic, intuitive approach to teaching.

The curriculum includes:

  • Principles of classic yoga asanas, including proper alignment, essential details, and pratapana.
  • Tools of the Kripalu's methodology and benefit from Kripalu's 30 years of experience.
  • Guide students in developing witness consciousness and self-compassion
  • Use the "press point" assisting methodology and other assists to guide students into the fullest expression of each posture for their bodies

The curriculum also includes:

  • Skills for transformational teaching: Help students develop a heightened sense of body awareness to deepen their practice on the mat and show them how to take that awareness into their lives off the mat.
  • How to create inspirational, creative, experiential yoga classes: Develop skills for teaching an inspirational 1-hour or 1 1/2-hour yoga class
  • How to create lesson plans for a complete series of classes with progressive levels of difficulty.
  • Principles of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology Focus on safety, joint movement, range of motion, and the skeletal and muscular systems.
  • Pranayama techniques Enable students to experience body-mind integration through yogic breathing and teach them how to connect consciously with prana, or life force the inherent wisdom of the body.
  • Relaxation and meditation methodology Gain skills for getting yourself and your students centered, creating sacred space, and guiding students in a deeply restorative shavasana.

Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive certification as a Kripalu Yoga teacher.

You will also be automatically enrolled in the Kripalu Yoga Teacher Association (KYTA), an organization that assists yoga teachers in building their career and creating a thriving teaching practice.
